Hello and welcome to Pen in Fist, a monthly newsletter on writing and activism.
I’m Carrie, an activist, writer, teacher, editor and translator.
This is the space I use to explore how activists write about our activism and the language we use to understand and change the world.
I sometimes write about my passions – local activism, feminism, queer politics, sex work, anti-racism, veganism and drug reform. But I also think about more general stuff, like what kinds of activism work, how to theorise activism in accessible ways, how to make a convincing argument, or how to recognise a rant when you hear one.
I’ve also started a series of podcast interviews with activist writers. Look out for a new episode soon!
